If you are like most people, you want to be “happy”. A word that’s being used with the same level of non-thinking like “hi” or “how are you?”. But do you really want to be happy? Or do your misfortunes give you purpose?

Who would you be without your little dramas? They are a great distraction, fun little quests. What if you had none, what would you do then? Who would you be? Would you still be the same person, or would that fade? Would it make you realize the shortness of life in front of you, the unavoidable waterfall somewhere ahead?

What if it made you realize you might be wasting your life? That you’ve been a bit like a zombie? Brushing your teeth every morning, driving to work, without really remembering any of it? Would that be scary? And what do you do then? Go through the painful journey of throwing away everything you think you know about your “self”? What would remain of you then? And for what? For the thing deep inside you somehow know you truly enjoy? What if it went wrong?

Maybe it is easier to keep running in circles?
